Tornado Hogan is a vibrant new musical project led by Gonz Veloz, a Boston-based artist with roots in Venezuela. After years of working in creative direction, video production, and design for various bands and artists, Gonz was inspired by friends and collaborators to create Tornado Hogan.
This project is about much more than just music; it reflects a journey through migration, multiculturalism, resilience, and the feelings that come from being far from home. In 2024, Gonz began writing songs that capture these experiences, all while developing a unique sound.
Tornado Hogan draws from a mix of influences, with nods to iconic alternative rock bands like Placebo, Circa Survive, Tigers Jaw, Have Mercy, and Title Fight, as well as the energetic vibes of Queens of the Stone Age. Gonz’s Venezuelan heritage also plays a role in shaping the music, inspired by artists like Zeta, 1ra edicion, Sonica, and Alfombra Roja. This combination creates a rich musical experience that resonates with listeners from different backgrounds.
A standout feature of Tornado Hogan is its commitment to being bilingual, with tracks in both English and Spanish. This thoughtful approach embraces Gonz's multicultural background and welcomes a diverse audience to connect with the music.
Get ready! Tornado Hogan will be launching its debut album in the fall of 2026 through La Hacienda Art Collective. This album aims to offer a meaningful collection of songs that explore themes of identity and belonging. It’s a journey that invites everyone to join in, whether you’re a long-time fan or just discovering the music!
